I get to hit alot of birds with one stone here...

I have James White listed at the right as on-the-mark doctrinally (and, you know, that's with the necessary degree of charity even I have to concede when assessing a person's doctrinal on-the-markness...White at least understands the doctrines of grace, if just at a surface level that's still alot and unfortunately rare). Tim Enloe I have listed as a blood-drinker (he being one of the owner/operators of Communio Sanctorum; also Societus Christiana is his website).

Tim just got married, and apparently he...well......I won't go there...

But White just posted this.

In fairness to internet guy Tim Enloe (not that he deserves the gesture) his words in White's post are a conglomeration of different forum posts, and jammed all together like White has them makes Tim seem a bit more obsessed with White than he may have been when writing each post separately. Judge for yourself.

Perspective: White is a human being, Enloe is a human being. Enloe's problem is he justifies his scepticism about his faith (which he's come into over the last few years) using human being foils. To a real Christian with real faith it doesn't matter if human X, Y, or Z is deep or shallow or somewhere in between with their faith and understanding the faith and all that. Tim decided he didn't believe in the authority of the Word of God, and instead of admitting that to himself he's been off on a long-running rant against Reformed Theology and various individuals he's known via the internet that have anything to do with Reformed Theology or a belief in the Word of God being the very Word of God.

Enloe is now caught between his vanity/pride and his desire to be ensconced in a church/theology that will give proper honor to his 'intellect' and desires. Basically his vanity and pride are making it difficult for him to go with his desire to join the Roman Catholic church. (The vanity/pride issues are a bit of a complicated mix of not wanting to be shown up or made a figure of ridicule by former comrades in arms. Wait for the right offer, though. Somebody will put together a Roman-conversion package that will be calibrated just right to salve Tim's vanity and pride enough, and allow him to suppress his intellectual understanding of the falseness of RC doctrine, while at the same time giving him, within the necessary confines of the RC domain, granted, needed space to spread his butt fat and recline and emote as his desire leads him to have to do.)

Enloe's criticisms of White that could be categorized under 'shallowness' are of course on-the-mark. But it doesn't matter regarding saving faith and recognition of on-the-mark doctrine. White is on-the-mark doctrinally. Enloe most assuredly is not. Enloe's a blood-drinker doctrinally.

Enloe of course is a rather shallow boy himself. He's in the scary category of resentful wet intellectual wannabee. (Not that when those types become real, tenured intellectuals they are any less scary and wet...) Enloe gives the impression he would sign an order to have half the Ukraine murdered if it garnered him some fake respect for his status as an 'intellectual'.

So, you have two somewhat (or alot) immature human beings here. White 'sees' Biblical doctrine and values the Word of God as authority (he's not all the way there yet, but he's in the arms of the Holy Spirit); Enloe is lost in the proverbial hall of mirrors regarding truth. He can't discern truth. Not yet. Maybe never, who knows...God knows. Hopefully before that happens he won't have molested his first child...
